![]() ![]() Toneprints would not load on any of them. I had problems with the looper not working on my first unit, and then was not able to get the tap delay to work on another. It seems that maybe TC Electronics let these out of the factory a bit prematurely, based on my experience and some of the chatter I have seen in reviews. This is a long review, but I need to clarify a couple of things. I hope it doesn't break, so I'm very careful with it. The 2290 settings are just simply beautiful. Using the effects at subtle settings gives you that 'sound of infinity'. The tap-tempo (4th foot-switch) seems to respond even after just two taps at the desired tempo. I'm still learning the device - but the sounds are so good that I'm already satisfied with the memorized presets I've already saved to the 3 foot-switches it has for that. The other features it has (looper etc.) are just icing on the cake. I would never consider another delay pedal over this one. The clear and crisp FX are just beautiful - and it adds the dimensionality to your sound that one always hopes a delay might be able to deliver. I run it last, right before the amp, and I use the supplied power supply that comes with it. You need a torx 10 screwdriver tool to take the back off and adust to buffered bypass (which I need for my long pedal change). I like all of the sounds as they are from the factory. so I got it during the exchange (which happened very quickly due to Sweetawater's excellent customer service). so I thought, why fear the big Flashback X4. I initially bought a used mini Flashback pedal and couldn't get it to work. It was just right! He lived happily ever after in guitarist land as he had found his perfect delay thanks to his friend Greg. It had some presets, some knobs and switches, but after using it for 2 weeks he loved it as it was more than a standard delay pedal, but not as complicated as a large expensive delay pedal. When the box from Sweetwater arrived he quickly opened it, ate the Tootsie Roll and put the beautiful blue delay pedal on his pedalboard. ![]() Greg recommended the Flashback X4, so the guitarist purchased one, as he had great faith in his friend that had always helped him with the right recommendation. He called his friend, Greg Savino at Sweetwater and asked for help. This was great, but there were so many presets, Loopers, switches and buttons that he never got to play his guitar, just set delays. He sold the DD7 and purchased a TimeLine. He bought a DD7, but after a few weeks found it just wasn't enough. His amp was limited so he decided to get a delay pedal. Once upon a time there was a guitarist that loved delay effects. ![]()
